From Pit to Purpose - A test of integrity
Genesis 39 : 12 [ESV]
she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand and fled and got out of the house.
A test of integrity
Temptation is part of the believer's journey. Jesus was tempted, and so was Joseph. While some trials result from our own choices, others are allowed by God to refine our character, test our integrity, and prepare us for greater responsibility.
When Potiphar's wife tempted Joseph, he chose obedience over pleasure. He fled from sin because he feared God more than he feared losing his position. Though his obedience led to false accusation and prison, God was using that very trial to prepare him for the palace.
Sometimes, doing the right thing may cost you in the moment, but it will never cost you God's purpose. Integrity may delay promotion, but it never denies it.
Take Home: Every temptation is an opportunity to prove your love for God. Choose obedience, and trust Him with the outcome.
Prayer: Father, give me the courage to stand firm in times of temptation. Refine my character, strengthen my integrity, and help me remain faithful, knowing that You are present.
