From Pit to Purpose - Purpose in the pain
Genesis 39:22 [ESV]
And the keeper of the prison put Joseph in charge of all the prisoners who were in the prison. Whatever was done there, he was the one who did it.
Purpose in the Pain
Painful seasons have a way of destabilizing us. They can leave us trapped in self-pity, bitterness, and discouragement, making us feel as though life has come to a standstill.
Joseph experienced this after being falsely accused and imprisoned. Yet instead of allowing pain to define him, he remained faithful to God. He served diligently, earned the trust of those around him, and even used his God-given gift to interpret dreams. It was in prison that God prepared the door to his next season.
If you are going through a difficult season, remember that it is just that—a season. Don't allow today's pain to rob you of tomorrow's purpose. God can still use you where you are, and in His time, He will open the next door.
Take Home: Don't let your pain define your purpose. Remain faithful where you are, and trust God to lead you into what comes next.
Prayer:Father, help me not to lose hope in difficult seasons. Give me the strength to remain faithful and purposeful.
