Are the miraculous spiritual gifts still active today?

Christians who agree on the Bible's authority still land in different places here, generally in two camps: continuationists (who believe all the gifts described in the New Testament continue today) and cessationists (who believe certain sign gifts, like tongues and prophecy in the apostolic sense, ceased after the foundational apostolic era, per passages like Ephesians 2:20).

Both camps agree Scripture is our final authority (2 Timothy 3:16-17) and that all Christians are called to the "greater gifts" of faith, hope, and above all, love (1 Corinthians 13). Whatever view you hold, any claimed spiritual gift should be tested against Scripture and used to build up the church, not draw attention to the person exercising it (1 Corinthians 14:12, 26).
