What are practical ways to grow spiritually as a new believer?

I recently became a Christian. What should I actually do to grow in my faith?

Spiritual growth is less about a single technique and more about consistent habits practiced over time, in community.

1. Read the Bible regularly — start with a Gospel like John, then move through the New Testament. 2. Pray honestly and often — talk to God like you would a trusted friend, not just in formal language. 3. Join a local church — growth happens best in community, not isolation (Hebrews 10:24-25). 4. Find a mentor or discipleship group — someone a step or two ahead who can walk with you. 5. Obey what you learn — spiritual growth is measured more by obedience than by information gained (James 1:22).

Don't be discouraged by slow progress; sanctification is a lifelong process, not an overnight transformation (Philippians 1:6).
